Is it wrong to eat a second dinner after the first one was unsatisfactory?

If you're a hungry person, then you have probably done this before. Maybe you go out to dinner with your friend, and it's one of those places with small portions and light food. Could you be blamed if, a little bit later, you stopped in a slice shop to make sure that you were fed for the day? No! But what if you were eating at your friend's house, like what happened in this story, which was shared on the AITAH subreddit. When someone is kind enough to host you at their house for dinner, you should probably eat what they serve you. It's a gesture of politeness. If you're not allergic to it or don't morally object to it, you should be open to eating whatever the host has put in front of you. It's just good manners. But that doesn't mean you don't get to eat afterwards. You don't have to go to bed hungry just because your host for the evening didn't serve something filling. And if you're the host, it's your duty to provide things that you know people will like. You can experiment, sure, but it's a good idea to have some safe backup options, or at least a few choices. That way, you know that you're satisfying your guests' hunger, and you don't have to worry about them skipping out for pizza after they're gone.

  • But that's the opposite of what happened in this story. Here, a host was experimenting with a new kind of diet, which can be a wonderful opportunity to try new recipes. Sometimes you need to break out of the mold of what you usually eat to get out of a rut and maybe discover some new favorites. But not everything is going to be a hit.     Am I in the wrong for leaving a dinner party early because of "vegan lasagna"?

    I was invited to a friend's dinner party. Beforehand, she told everyone she was making vegan lasagna. I'm not vegan, but I like plenty of vegetarian and vegan foods, so I figured I'd give it a try.

    When dinner was served, I was surprised to find that it wasn't really lasagna at all. There were no noodles, no cheese, and no sauce. It was basically layers of vegetables stacked together. The "pasta" layers were lettuce leaves with slices of tomato and other raw vegetables in between.

    I'm gonna edit to add that most fresh noodles have eggs in them. There are none egg-based noodles (I guess most dry noodles. are), but even so I think we can all agree that lettuce is not a noodle substitute

    the best chili I've ever had in my life was vegan. She needs to learn how to cook if she wants to host dinner parties and not have everyone be hungry afterward. Just because it's vegan doesn't mean it can't be delicious, substantial and filling.

    Edited to add: I read the post again and I see she's new to being vegan, but she is really missing out if she thinks this is what vegan food has to be. She needs some cookbooks or cooking. classes because there are a ton of ways to make amazing vegan food.

    dinner. We ate it, had seconds, and still had McDonald's on way home lol but the most important part is we stayed, we ate, we respected their diet. No one has control of what we do AFTER the dinner. You, my friend, are NOT the a hle here.
